Innobobal project
The Innobobal Project is an initiative in which the Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (IVIA), the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Utiel-Requena, Cooperatives Agroalimentàries de la Comunitat Valenciana, the Cooperativa Agrícola La Inmaculada de Casas de Eufemia and the technological company VisualNacert SL.
The total aid granted to the Innobobal Project amounts to € 79,494.40, 53% Unión Europea (FEADER), 8.86% Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (MAPA), and 38.14% Conselleria de Agricultura, Medio Ambiente, Cambio Climático y Desarrollo Rural (CAMACCyDR).
The Innobobal Project aims to create a pilot network of demonstration plots of sustainable and ecological winegrowing practices at the service of innovation. This will make it possible to demonstrate on the plot the most innovative tools currently available to the organic winegrower, enabling decisions to be taken in advance in the case of : the irrigation of the native Bobal variety; and on other management practices that will improve water efficiency.
Thanks to its demonstrative nature, the project aims to strengthen the link between the production base and research and to meet the specific needs of this type of management, thus disseminating scientific knowledge and technological advances in the field of precision viticulture.
The network is made up of 4 plots representative of the different growing conditions in the Utiel-Requena region: climate, soil, management, irrigation, etc. These plots will be irrigated in accordance with the annual allocations determined in the Plan for the exploitation of the 080,133-Requena-Utiel subterranean mass.
By 2019, a maximum of 600 m3/ha/year had been established for the cultivation of vines, olive groves and nuts.
Innobobal had a duration of 3 years (2018 to 2020) and was financed by the RDP of the Comunitat Valenciana through the call for aid for cooperation of the Conselleria de Agricultura, Medio Ambiente, Cambio Climático y Desarrollo Rural.
